Stick, Walking, Tokotoko

Complete tokotoko (walking stick). Carved with one full figure and two faces on shaft. The shaft is carved with rauponga (rows of notches and lines) in diagonal and chevron styles. There is rauponga whakarare (carving traverses pattern to form hooks) up the side length of the shaft. Approximately two third of the way up the shaft are two faces, back to back. Both have tounge and teeth visible, along with spaces in the eyes for inserts. Above the outwards facing face is the full figure. There is some wearing on the face and chest. Arms are asymmetrically places to leave space for another insert (missing). At the end of the handle is a second figure, depicted from the chest up. The tounge and teeth are exposed with space in the eyes for inserts.
