Adze, Toki
Complete adze. Green/grey stone. The cross-section is trapezoidal with the back slightly narrower than the front. The surface is ground and bruised. There is a straight ridge and square shoulders on the front of the blade. The stone is reduced on the front and sides of the butt. The bevel is slightly concave and demarcated by a curved chin. The cutting edge is curved, asymmetrical and sharp. There is a large piece of paper, ripped on the proper right, on the front of the blade. It reads "L70-33 This book[crossed out] adze was presented[crossed out] loaned to Otago Museum by J.B. Falconer Kaiwera -> Southland from SI7C 0873C3"
