Adze, Toki

Complete adze, broken in two near the shoulders and glued back together. White and light grey stone. Cross-section is rectangular. Surface is ground, with sawing marks on both sides. Major differentiation between butt and blade, front and proper left side reduced to form shoulder. Bevel is continuous with the blade. Cutting edge is oblique and sharp. "Sth. Canterbury." inscription
