Adze, Toki
Complete adze. Grey stone. The cross-section is trapezoidal with the back narrower than the front. The surface is flaked and bruised on the sides and butt, and ground on the front and the back of the blade. The butt is defined by rough and asymmetrical reduction in the sides of the stone. The bevel is smooth and demarcated by a ridge on either side, tapering from the cutting edge to towards the centre of the blade. The cutting edge is sharp and straight.
