Adze, Toki
Complete adze, broken in three parts on the blade and glued back together. Black stone. Surface is ground on the front and on the back blade and bruised around the butt and part of the back of the blade. Cross-section is rectangular on the butt and trapezoidal on the blade, with back narrower than front. Major differentiation between butt and blade, with front and sides reduced to form a ridge and shoulders. Back of the blade has also been reduced to form a concave indentation from the top of the bevel to the shoulders. Bevel is demarcated by a curved ridge. Cutting edge is slightly curved and sharp. "Milton." inscription on front.
