Tekoteko

Complete tekoteko of a male figure. Made of heavy wood, and painted a dark red. There is indistinct writing around the forehead. There is a ta moko on the lower portion of the figure's face. The carving on the body is done in the rauponga style. There is a carved projection below the figures feet that is partially broken. There is one large perforation on this projection. The figure is concave at the back, so the arms, buttocks and sides of head project backwards. There is a large hole at the back of the head, and four smaller holes on the back of the arms, two on each side.
