Adze, Toki
Roughout of an adze. Dark grey stone with a layer of pale stone on the back. Rectangular cross-section. The surface is flaked and bruised on the pale stone. The butt is differentiated from the blade by a reduction in the proper right side, but it is straight from the poll to the cutting edge on the proper left side. The bevel is narrow and demarcated from the pale blade by its colour and an irregular ridge. The cutting edge is asymmetrical and roughly shaped.
