Chisel, Whao
Complete chisel. Light green pounamu. Surface is ground and bruised, with sawing marks on proper right side. Cross-section is rectangular. No differentiation between butt and blade; sides taper toward the poll. Bevel on both front and back, each demarcated by a line. Cutting edge is oblique and sharp. "North Canterbury" inscription.
