Adze, Toki

Complete unfinished adze. Quadrangular cross-section. The surface is mostly bruised with ground areas on the lower blade and some flake scars. There are two shoulders at the side of the base of the butt, and a reduction in the stone on the sides of the butt. The bevel is smooth and continuous with the blade. The cutting edge is curved and sharp with some chips. There is a patch of adhesive or wax in the centre of the back of the butt.
