Adze, Toki
Complete adze. Cross-section is rectangular. Surface of front is ground - surface of back is flaked. Undifferentiated between butt and blade, tapering towards poll. Bevel is continuous with blade. Cutting edge is sharp and straight. Present on front and back; West Taieri. Complete adze. The cross-section is rectangular. The surface is mainly ground with flaking on the blade and on the back. There is minor differentiation between the butt and the blade with the sides tapering off towards the poll. The poll is oblique with the proper left side of the poll being longer than the proper right side. The bevel is demarcated by a minor curved line at the chin and is curved. The cutting edge is slightly curved and sharp with no chipping.
