Adze, Toki
Complete adze. Stone. Grey, with black flecks. Cross-section of blade is rectangular, cross-section of butt is semi-circular with back flattened. Surface is ground, bruised on poll. Major differentiation between butt and blade, front heavily reduced forming a large shoulder. There is a ridge mid-butt, and just before poll. Bevel is demarcated by a ridge at the chin, cutting edge is sharp and curved. Mataura Valley written on front.
