Adze, Toki
Complete adze. Dark grey and dark red stone. Surface is ground and bruised. Cross-section is triangular on the butt and trapezoidal on the blade, with the front narrower than the back. Front of the butt is reduced to form a ridge. Bevel is continuous with the blade. Cutting edge is sharp and curved; blade tapers toward the cutting edge. "Akaroa." inscription on front and back.
