Collection Record

Adze, Toki

Complete adze. Brown and grey stone. The cross-section is lenticular at the bevel and triangular at the butt. The surface is mostly ground with flake scars. There is some distinction between the butt and the blade, as the sides of the butt have been reduced slightly. The bevel is demarcated from the blade by a small ridge only on the proper right. There is a chip and flaking on the proper left of the bevel and cutting edge. The back of the adze forms an irregular ridge down the length of the blade.
