Adze, Toki
Complete adze. Black stone. Trapezoidal cross-section with the back narrower than the front. The surface is mostly bruised, with ground areas on the blade and flake scars on the poll and cutting edge. There is a curved shoulder on the front of the blade. The stone is reduced on the front of the butt. The bevel is bruised and demarcated from the blade by a straight line. The cutting edge is flaked and chipped. There is staining from a dried liquid on the front proper left, the left side and the back proper left of the blade.
