Adze, Toki

Complete stone adze. Black in colour. Surface is ground with bruising on the sides and front of the butt. Cross section is oval on the butt and trapezoidal on the blade. Major differentiation between the butt and blade, with sides reduced to form shoulders. Bevel is demarcated by a line and by usewear; scrape marks running from top to bottom at the centre of the bevel. Cutting edge is curved and sharp, with a large chip broken off the proper left side.
