Adze, Toki

Large complete adze. Dark grey stone. The cross-section is quadrangular. The surface is mostly ground with bruising on the front of the butt. There are flake scars on every side and the back is mostly flaked. There is major distinction between the butt and the blade, with an irregular ridge and reduction in the stone on the front. The bevel and the blade are differentiated by a ridge. The cutting edge is straight and sharp.
