Collection Record

Chisel, Whao

Complete pounamu gouge. The cross section is irregular because of substantial sawing marks. The surface is ground with flaking on the proper left side. The gouge has been historically snapped through the middle and reattached. There are two saw marks on the proper left and one on the proper right. The blade is bevelled on both the front and back. The cutting edge is straight and sharp.
