Adze, Toki

Complete unfinished adze. Grey stone. Trapezoidal cross-section with the back narrower than the front. The surface is flaked. There is no distinction between the butt and the blade. The sides of the blade taper in from the cutting edge to the poll. The bevel is concave and demarcated by oblique ridges on the sides and flake scars on the centre. The cutting edge is curved and chipped.
