Adze, Toki

Complete adze, dark brown stone. Quadrangular cross-section. The surface is mostly ground with bruising and flake scars. There is a curved shoulder on the front of the blade, and a reduction in the stone on the front and sides of the butt. The bevel is continuous with the blade but badly chipped. There is an indentation in the stone on the lower back of the blade. The cutting edge is chipped. The blade appears to have been broken and mended in 3? places. There is a piece of paper on the front of the blade that reads: "193".
