Adze, Toki
Complete adze. Grey stone. The cross-section is trapezoidal with the back narrower than the front. The surface is ground on the bevel and the front of the blade, and the rest of the blade and butt is bruised. There are a few flake scars on the sides and at the poll. There is no distinction between the butt and the blade. The sides of the blade taper in towards the poll. There is a large flake scar on the front proper right butt. There is major distinction between the bevel and the blade, with a curved ridge separating them. The cutting edge is asymmetrical, sharp, curved and unchipped. The number "37" is written on a little sticker on the front butt.
