Waka huia
Unfinished waka huia made of porokaiwhiri. Mid-brown in colour. Cross-section is a flattened oval. The exterior side of the box is partially carved in a rauponga (ridge and triangular notch) pattern; about one-quarter is unfinished. Undecorated human heads protrude from either end of the box, with a perforation drilled behind each head for suspension. The interior of the box and both sides of the lid are undecorated. The bottom of the lid is flattened and rests on the box with tongue and groove joint.
