Chisel, Whao
Complete unfinished chisel. Grey stone. Oval cross-section. The surface is mostly ground, with bruising on the butt and flaking on the proper right side of the back. There is a protruding rounded shoulder on the front of the blade and a reduction in the front and sides of the butt. There is another rounded protrusion of the stone on the proper left side of the front towards the poll. The bevel is smooth and demarcated by a straight line. The cutting edge is curved and asymmetrical.
