Adze, Toki

Complete adze. Brown stone. Rounded trapezoidal cross-section at the blade with the back narrower than the front. Oval cross-section at the butt. The surface is mostly bruised with some ground areas on the lower blade. There is an obvious protruding shoulder on the front of the blade, with the stone bruised and reduced above and below it. There is another protrusion on the front of the butt closer towards the poll. The sides of the blade taper from the middle of the blade towards the poll. The bevel is demarcated by a rounded chin. The bevel has a flake scar and bruising. The cutting edge is sharp and has a chip on the front.
