Gouge, Whao
Complete pounamu gouge. Black in colour. Surface is ground. Round in cross section. Tapered at each end. Cutting edge is oblique and sharp, with a bevel demarcated by a curved ridge and indentation. Proximal end has a curved indentation on one side. Proximal edge is flattened and ground smooth.
