Adze, Toki

Large adze roughout. Light brown and dark brown stone with red patches. Quadrangular cross-section. The surface is roughly flaked. There is a reduction in the stone on the back of the adze halfway up the blade. The stone then tapers in towards the poll. There is no distinction between the butt and the blade on the front. The bevel is a severe slope demarcated by an irregular ridge. The cutting edge is oblique, irregular and blunt.
