Hei tiki
Pounamu/nephrite hei tiki, kawakawa variety, dark green. Head tilted to the right with suspension hole at top centre, drilled from rear. Eyes incised, nose and mouth worn but tongue protrudes over lower lip. Arms with distinctive elbows and forearms with three fingered hands sitting on thighs. Legs folded together beneath body. Grooves on torso. Perforations at arms and legs. Rear side flattened from an original surface with some bruising/flaking at the head.
