Skinner, The Prime Minister was interested in the Chinese Art Exhibitions and didn’t think the expenditure too high, but the Dominion Museum and Mr. Troup had the most active interest. I have sent a letter asking the Board to arrange the exhibitions around NZ - enclosed is the items of expenditure. I suggested the National Art Gallery ask for a grant from the government to bring Victor Rienaecker to NZ & cover the annual expense of these exhibitions.

Archey also saw Fortune and suggested he attend the A.A.A. meeting, as he may need financing. Archey was confused by Skinner's previous reference to "the Auckland position", but explained no positions are available. Writes that he is glad Skinner is publishing again about Maori carving, states their different point of views. Further discusses handbooks, and his view on the Kinsey collection and offers made on it.

Further discusses how profitable the handbooks may be, and the contents of them. Loan Chinese Art exhibit is still before the Trustees of the National Art Gallery, waiting for a report from Oliver. Captain Davies returned from Australia with no promises, doubting the arrangement of Rienaecker's visit.

Hercus has given us the authority to proceed with printing the handbooks. Archey then outlined the expenditure that he sent in a letter to the Board of Trustees.
