letter, 28/08/1935, H D Skinner to Mr F. N. Pryce, Keeper, Department of Greek and Roman Antiquities, British Museum, On behalf of the department, thanks for the gift. Otago museum is the most remote museum from the Mediterranean region, the difficulties of securing material varies inversely with the distance. Otago's small collection has been built up by gifts from Mr Fels and others, as well as purchases from funds of the Association of Friends of the Museum. The British Museum's gift will strengthen our Aegan sections. Archaic pottery from Cyprus is the only Archaic head we have, if any future duplicates show up we'd be happy to receive.
