Advice about terms of leave, especially retention of salary payment, use of Duff as Acting-Curator and desirability of securing a "lady typiste-accountant" No word from the police about the "penguin Murder".

Reference to Wardlaw and complicated account of visit to the birds with a disgruntled Wardlaw reported to be threatening legal action against Skinner. References to Lindsay and Oliver.

Letter, 23/02/1938, H D Skinner to R A Falla, Discussion about Wardlaw's threats of libel having no substance, but concern of danger he poses to the birds so relevant people (Falla, Oliver, Archey, Richdale, Stead etc) should be aware of this. Skinner prepared to go to the Minister if necessary. Offer of accommodation to Duff at any time.

Letter, 25/02/1938, R A Falla, Director of the Canterbury Museum to H D Skinner, Hopes that the Wardlaw affair is now closed. Falla has reported to the Dept of Internal Affairs that Illegally-taken specimans offered to the Museum be retained; permission granted "in the circumstances".
