letter, 12/12/1934, H. D. Skinner to Mr. Chapman, Have received from Mr. Samuel Russell of Papeete a carved house-post from Tubuai in the Astral Islands which they've agreed to pay five pounds. Requests that this can be drawn from the Fels Fund and remit it to Mr. Russell's account with Messers. A.B. Donald and Co, Auckland.

letter, 17/10/1934, H.E. Maude, Island of Beru, Gilbert Islands to H D Skinner, Maude describes his work in the Gilbert Islands. Discusses new staff and his appointment as Commissioner for Native lands for the Gilbert Islands. Reports they are preparing a paper on Fish Lures and their classification. Wonders if Kennedy's classifications would be applicable to clam shell adzes.

Matheson, in charge of insurance matters connected to the exhibition at the museum of European China, stoneware and pottery has received the correspondence from the Standard Insurance Co, which has undertaken the risk. Asks for a premium of 31/ from general funds of the museum

letter, 16/11/1934, H. D. Skinner to Mr. Chapman, Mentions purchasing from Mrs. L. Jackson (per J. L. Cameron) a Maori greenstone gouge found near Gore, paying one pound. Also purchased from Mrs. L. Hutton one greenstone adze and one bone toggle from Kaikai's Beach. Both purchases confirmed by Mr. Willi Fels. Requests repayment from the Fels Fund.

letter, 09/11/1934, H. D. Skinner to Mr Chapman, Mentions receiving from S. Russell, Papeete, two wooden shark hooks, Fangatau, Tuamotus, one stone turtle, Tahiti, one digging stick, Tubuai and one wooden weapon, Marquesas. Mr. Fels has agreed to the payment of 11 pounds, asks for this to be remitted to Messers. A.B. Donald Ltd, Auckland, to be paid to S. Russell's account.
