letter, 10/05/1935, H D Skinner to T W Downes (Wanganui River Trust Domain Board), Letter in response to Downes' letters of April 27th and May 6th (1935) reassuring Downes he was not overpaid for his work by the Hocken Library. Skinner mentions the museum is 'indebted' to Downes for a canoe now held by the museum. He also clarifies that a 'hei tiki' he mentioned in a previous letter to Downes was not 'the one in the Alexander Museum' but one belonging to Downes.
