letter, 06/10/1936, W.Brown, Wanganui River Trust to, Papers received. Both my wife and myself have been ill. Posting papers for Hocken, written by Colin Campbell in the 60's, mostly from Oamaru. Discussion of Archie's views on evolution of style of spiral and other forms. Have been given worked volcanic stone from Rotorua, Mr Chapple has similar from Raetahi. Don't know what it was used for. Page 2 drawings of both stones with notes. In notes of Taylor, dated 1865-6-7 he and Sir Grey looked at deposit at Waingongoro (sp) with drawing of cut away site showing layers of material. Mention of notes on what was found and suggestion that it was made by people on an eastern migration.
