letter, 19/05/1936, The Curator, Otago Museum to Mr. E. Langford, Not able to supply Langford with all the information about the takahe in the Otago Museum. Only briefly supplies details about the bird Notornis hochstetteri that was captured near the shore of Lake Te Anau on August 7th, 1898 by a dog belonging to Messrs. Ross. It was then taken to Dr. Young in Invercargill where he sent it to the museum for taxidermy.
