There will be lots of different activities to try your hand at, all inspired by Matariki traditions. Get an introduction to the Māori martial art mau rākau, or discover the sounds of traditional instruments in a taoka pūoro session. Make something beautiful at one of our drop-in craft stations, or come along to a workshop on the taoka art of manu aute (traditional Māori kite making).
There will also be exclusive screenings of Mārama ā Whetū, Waka Whetū, and Night Sky Live in our planetarium. These films will guide you through the stars, telling stories of Matariki and the wayfinding skills of Polynesian voyagers.
