If its in good order the department would be glad to make an offer for it. Bring it to the Museum, give a telephone call a day or two before so I don't miss you.

letter, 03/09/1935, M J Ewart to H D Skinner, Bought a Maori curio to Skinner a few years ago, he said it was of rarity and a neck pendant made from a human rib bone. Mrs Ewart feels prompted by monetary difficulties to offer the pendant to the Museum for sale. If museum is uninterested, could Skinner suggest a collector who would be.

letter, 15/03/1935, H D Skinner to C E Ford, Auckland, Would like to see your adze collection,. We have many pieces from the Voyce collection. We are sure the Morioris of the Chathams knew how to cut greenstone. Most pieces in the Chathams come from Maori conquerors but two or three pieces go back to Moriori times. Evidence for moa extinction especially from Watkin and Stack were that they were extinct not less than 150 years before 1850. Work with the spade bears this out.

Teviotdale donated the balance of his collection. Received from Lady Nicholson of Banff, Scotland four kahwai hooks and 6 shark hooks collected in Wellington in 1842. Working on exhibition of textiles and lace. Hope to see you in London in January.

Written to Dr Fritz Sarasin in Basel suggesting an exchange, they were collectors from Nordmann of Papeete. He is clearly getting better prices in Europe than here. Dr Benham's knee is better. Dr Inglis died. Librarian Harris is back from training in England. Lecture from Dr Bertram Thomas Arabian explorer. MacLachlan taken photos of canoe for handbook. Saw collections of Pritchard and Vangioni and Hornsey. 2 cases of material from Drury Low at Mauke

letter, 17/06/1935, Willi Fels to H D Skinner, I'm cross, Fels fund does not have the money for a greenstone adze you bought from Hornsey for £15. Enclose list of items bought from London Missionary Society and John Whitaker of Cambridge for £11-17-6. Please send check to Alfred feels for me. Received fine gift from British Museum all labelled by F N Pryce, keeper of Greek and Roman antiquities and R. Smith. Sydney Smith of the Egyptian Department will put us on the list of museums to which stuff may be sent. Collection sent includes 3 to 4 dozen Greek and Roman Lamps etc. Sent letter of thanks to George Hill Director.

letter, 20/03/1935, Willi Fels to H D Skinner, Kenyon of Melbourne numismatics sorting 14,000 electrotype replicas of coins from British museum and other collections bought for £3,300. He showed me the large Teipolo and self portrait by Rembrandt. You made offer of £20 for Mirow's ?picuda did it arrive? Visited Hobart saw fine feather box.
