Broken adze (lower blade missing). Stone. Dark grey. Cross-section of blade is rectangular, cross-section of butt is oval. Surface is ground on blade, bruised on butt. Minor differentiation between butt and blade, sides slightly reduced, forming a small shoulder. Bevel is demarcated by a line, cutting edge not present. South Island written on front.

Broken adze (lower blade missing). Stone. Black. Cross-section is triangular, with apex to back. Minor differentiation between butt and blade, sides slightly reduced forming small shoulder. Bevel continuous with blade, cutting edge not present.

Broken adze (lower blade remaining). Stone. Dark grey. Cross-section is rectangular. Surface is ground with flake scars. Butt not present. Bevel is Continuous with blade, cutting edge is blunt and staight. South Island written on front.

Broken adze (all but cutting edge remaining). Stone. Black. Cross-section is oval. Surface is mostly ground, with some light bruising on butt. Undifferentiated between butt and blade, sides slightly reduced. Poll front reduced, depression on butt back. Lower blade not present. S. Island written on front.

Broken adze (butt remaining). Stone. Grey. Cross-section is rectangular. Surface is ground. Undifferentiated between butt and blade, sides taper slightly towards poll. Front of butt angles down towards poll. Blade not present. S. Island written on front.

Broken adze (portion of butt remaining). Stone. Grey. Cross-section is rectangular. Surface is mostly ground, with some flaking. Undifferentiated between butt and blade. Blade not present. South Island written on front.

Complete adze. Stone. Grey. Cross-section is rectangular. Surface is flaked. Undifferentiated between butt and blade, sides taper towards poll, back of butt slopes up towards poll. Bevel is continuous with poll, cutting edge is sharp and curved, both unfinished. South Island written on front.

Complete roughout. Stone. Grey. Cross-section is rectangular. Surface is flaked. Undifferentiated between butt and blade. Bevel is continuous with blade, cutting edge is sharp and curved, both unfinished. S. Island is written on front.

Complete two-mouthed hinaki (eel trap). Two-strand, half-twisted twining made from vine. Stick-like projections at the end of the eel funnels. Four internal braces woven into body. Bait door at one end with two rounded handles. Another larger handle on the other side.

Complete hue (gourd container or calabash). Mid brown and mid orange. Elongated, bulbous base with a short, curved neck. Top of the neck has been cut away and the edges have been polished smoothed. Small perforation just below the top. Base is severely cracked.

Complete hue (gourd container). Dark orange in colour. Hole cut out on one side of neck; small piece of stem still attached. A twisted and knotted piece of muka cord is looped around the body of the gourd and tied at the top for use as a carrier.
