Dinosaurs: A Story of Survival
He kura
Shark tooth pendant, with serrated sides and broken suspension hole at the top.
Unfinished bone comb. Sawing marks outline four teeth, which are all broken at various points at the distal end. Proximal edge also has sawing marks and has been snapped off.
Broken and burnt bone comb. All four teeth have broken in several pieces and been glued back together. Two teeth are complete and pointed at the distal end; however one has come unglued. Head is squared off on the proximal end, with cut marks at the base on both sides. Tapered to form shoulders where the head meets the teeth.
Mostly complete bone comb, one tooth (out of five) snapped off at the base. Remaining four teeth are relatively short in comparison to the size of the head. Sawing marks visible on head above teeth. Surface is smooth with polishing marks evident throughout.
Bone comb, broken in two pieces. Proximal edge is not present; side edges are straight. Three teeth remaining; one is much larger than the others, possibly indicating that it is unfinished.
Broken bone comb, head and four teeth out of eight remaining. Sides of the head are straight and proximal edge is oblique.
Fragment of a bone comb, proper right side of the head and one tooth remaining. There are small serrations on the remaining side edge. There are two horizontal cutting marks above the remaining tooth. The tooth comes to a dull point at the distal end.
Fragment of worked bone, possibly the head of a comb. Previously broken in two and glued back together. Y-shaped projection at one end, rounded with an oblong perforation below. Flares out toward the other end, which is broken and burnt. Surface is smooth with polishing marks evident.
Two teeth of a bone comb. Cross sections are rectangular. Tapered to a sharp point at the distal ends. Surface is smooth.
Broken bone comb, one side remaining. Head is rounded with a rounded projection on the side edge. Several small drilled perforations on the projection resemble a human face. Piece comes to a broken sharp point at the distal end (broken tooth?).
Prong of a bone comb, tapered to a sharp point at one end and fragment of burnt bone.
Bone pendant, has previously been broken in three pieces and glued back together. Broken at the proximal end (no suspension hole present) with a chip out of proper right side. Rectangular shape, tapered at both ends. Lenticular cross section.
