Complete soapstone whio (whistle). Surface is ground smooth. Drilled perforation at proximal end, with a oval knob projecting off one side. Distal end has a deep indentation with a chipped edge.

Complete flute. There are three perforations along the top of the flute, the middle perforation is slightly off-centre. The distal end is chipped.

Broken flute, one end remaining. There are three perforations.

Broken flute, one end remaining. Remaining end is finished, with a perforation near the edge. There are two more perforations along the top. There is a length of string wrapped around the broken end. Large crack running length of remaining flute.

Broken flute.Both ends are finished, though there is a fragment from one end missing. There are two complete perforations, and one partial perforation along the broken edge. Large, split crack at one side.

Wooden flute; koauau. Charcoal evident inside flute and in two holes on top with surface crack in grain running between holes. Another hole on side at proximal end. Proximal end cut flush on outside of natural joint with distal end having an irregular face with missing surface chips. A deeper but rounded cut in the distal end may be remnant hole which has eroded out.

Complete black soapstone whio (whistle). Carved with a human face at one end, with projecting tongue. A drilled perforation at the top of the head for suspension, with another drill mark next to it, indicating a broken perforation. Body of the whistle is carved with spirals. Other end of whistle is hollowed out with a deep indentation; chisel marks evident on interior surface.

Complete flute. There are three perforations along the top.

Broken putatara. Weather bleached conch shell trumpet, with fragments missing from rear section of lip and at proximal end. There are three perforations apex end of the spire, where a wooden mouthpiece would have been attached. There is a large fragment missing from the body. There is a perforation on the outer lip. Along the outer lip, towards the distal end there is a chip, followed by a crack. There is a partial perforation at the anterior canal.

Complete flute. Finished at both ends. One end has a partial perforation drilled. There are two perforation along the top. Striations along one side in a chevron pattern.

Large partially manufactured flute. Severely cracked, some fragments missing. Visible repairs where previously broken. Finished at both ends, no perforations.

Complete but unfinished flute. Ends are cut, but not perfectly smoothed. There is a perforation at one end, only partially drilled through. Some hair cracks in surface.
