Complete cast of a patu paraoa. Cast shows chips around edges of patu. There are also circular decorations on both sides of the cast, the the distal and proximal ends of the blade. Sides reduced where blade meets handle, forming shoulder.

Complete wooden patu aruhe (beater for preparing fern root). Spatula shaped head with convex bruised face. Distal end rounds to gently tapering neck which runs evenly to end of handle. A natural elongated knot sits in middle of handle which is rounded at proximal end. End of head eroded and with splitting.
