Adze fragment (unknown portion remaining, possibly portion of blade). Cross-section is roughly rectangular. Surface is flaked, partially ground on front. No discernible butt, bevel or cutting edge. "W.M" written on front.
Portion of adze (unknown fragment remaining). Cross-section is asymmetrical. Surface on front is ground, flaked on all other surfaces. Butt, bevel and cutting edge not present. "W.M." written on front.
Broken adze (lower blade remaining). Cross-section is trapezoidal with back narrower than front. Surface is ground on front, flaked and broken on other surfaces. Butt not present, but sides of blade taper towards broken edge. Bevel is flaked and unfinished, cutting edge also rough and unfinished. "Waitaki Mth S. Willetts" written on front.
Fragment of adze (unknown portion remaining, possibly section of lower blade, just above bevel). Cross-section is trapezoidal, with front narrower than back. Surface is Surface is ground on front and sides where unbroken, back is more bruised. Butt not present. Possible demarcation of bevel on back. "Waitaki" written on front.
Complete roughout. Cross-section is asymmetrical. Surface is flaked, partially ground down front. Undifferentiated between butt and blade, sides taper towards poll. Bevel is flaked and unfinished, cutting edge also unfinished. "Waitaki" written on front.
Broken adze, unclear what part is remaining as there is a lack of discernible features. Black stone. Cross-section is trapezoidal. Surface is bruised. "Waitaki" inscription
Broken slate knife with distal end present. Proximal end appears to be broken. One lateral margin missing. Cutting edge is blunt and chipped. Both surfaces are ground, and one is bruised.
Broken slate knife, no discernable edges. Both sides are ground.
Broken pipe, bowl and part of stem remaining. Bowl is deep. The proper right rim of the bowl is burned from lighting. The bowl is decorated with raised lines that follow the curve of the bowl. There is a broken knob at the bottom of the pipe where the bowl meets the stem. There is a fine perforation running through the stem.
Large complete gouge. Dark grey stone. Cross section is circular. Surface is smooth with grounding and flaking on the butt. Butt is differentiated from the blade by a raised ridge on the front. Bevel is demarcated by a ridge and indentation. Tapered to the cutting edge, which is sharp but chipped. "Lovells Flat Sth Otago" inscription on back.
Complete adze. Black and grey stone. Surface is ground on the front of blade and on the bevel, but bruised and flaked throughout rest of adze. Cross-section is oval on the butt and trapezoidal on the blade, with back narrower than front. Front and sides are reduced with a ridge on the front. Bevel is demarcated by a change in surface. Cutting edge is straight and sharp. "Lovell's Flat Sth Otago" inscription on front.
Complete adze. Rectangular Surface is ground with minor bruising and flaking on sides, and major flaking on poll. Butt is undifferentiated. Bevel is demarcated by a curved line running from each side and meeting faintly in the centre of the blade. Cutting edge is smooth, sharp and slightly rounded.
