notebook, 1931, David Teviotdale. Notes on Ship to South Canterbury, 18-25/03/1931. Visited caves near Pareora River which has 'prehistoric' paintings. 3 feet high drawings mostly moa. In enclosed space has human, dog and lizard depictions. On farm shown moa bones. Visited Temuka pa. Talks of damage to a different site, and presence of middens along a river. Proceeds to discuss different sites visited and materials, bones and artefacts at each.

field diary, 1924, D. Teviotdale excavation notes at Shag River Mouth. Moa hunter's camp located at river mouth. Abundance of Quartzite flakes, presence of sandstone tools, bon fishhooks, worked bone, small chisels. Complete perforated moa egg found also. Details of archaeological material found, context and condition of the material is discussed. Excavations reported in 1924.

catalogue, 1926, Catalogue of material from Moa Hunters camp at mouth of the Shag River, excavated by D Teviotdale and given to Otago Museum. Total artefacts taken from camp, in museum 2360, otherwise 2889 with 201 of these in Teviotdale's posession. 28/07/1926
