Mentions a Father Neyrer who provided information on the rig and manner of sailing both an outrigger and double ancient canoes, finding that the canoes of Manihiki seemed to gone out very quickly. mentions George Ellis who may have taught these people boat building in around 1870 or 1871. mentions "Vikings of the Sunrise" again. Trenn sent a copt of Captain Trickery's letter, mentioning a flat-bottom boat which was a Ellis innovation. Second page discusses possible plans for if the Japanese were in invade New Zealand, mentioning making plans for a bomb-proof shelter at Skinners house. Discusses the menace of Hitler and Mussolini, and how the British Empire is unlucky to have had MacDonald, Baldwin, and Chamberlain as prime ministers in succession. Third page discusses getting the Manihiki villages looking their best to prepare for a visit from the Governor General. Mentions sending out various items for the N.Z. exhibition including: 3 large pandanus mats with coloured designs, 4 hats of very fine plait, 6 women's belts and 1 pearl shell belt, and 1 casket inlaid with pearl shell. All items are modern expect for the basket mentioned.
