Letter, 1/3/1927?, J H Hatherly, Wanganui to H D Skinner, Information from Mr Robert Earle re Maori. Te Ramarama chief of Kaiwhaiki organised a raid on Stewart Island or tbc part of the South Island. Returned with two mere Whakarewarewa, and Maiotaritari which the Museum bought from Mr Earle. The mere were placed in hiding, and years later found by Mr Rawson when pig hunting.
