Simcox sketched a bone point and mentions Otatara but the writing is illegible. Also sketched in the letter was a comb. Simcox discusses news about Norman Potts however the writing is illegible.

letter, Miss Smithe to H.D.Skinner, Miss Smithe writes on behalf of her friend who is considering writing a thesis on the effect of the Scottish in New Zealand. Smithe asks if anyone has written a similar thesis and if Skinner could in any way help her friend.

Tindale writes that the Adelaide museum has two Fijian white lotus clubs, but are only willing to make casts of them due to their important histories. Also offers the cast of another Fijian club called 'ivi lala'. Says much of their Fijian collection was obtained by Mr. W. Owen and presented to the museum in 1861.

letter, 04/10/1935, Professor R. Speight to H.D. Skinner, Apologies for the mistake concerning the cast of an adze, says he placed it in a separate box to minimise risk of damage, sent only on loan. Asks if Skinner would like the mould to execute the cast himself as he is running short on time to do it himself.

Apologies for not hearing from the Native Land Court or from Mr. Waghern concerning a casket, and does not understand the delay in reply. Expects no objections for the Canterbury Museum to obtain the casket. Speight also photographed pendants that were found in a hole in some rocks at 'Chorlton'.
