Letter, 17/11/1938, Roger Duff to H D Skinner, Comments regarding Dr Beaglehole's article and push for a school of social anthropology in wellington for the purpose of training officials to appreciate their administration. Duff comments that Beaglehole was critical of the Dunedin school but, in duff's view there is room for the two different approaches; Dunedin focus on grounding in archaeology and Wellington covering social generalizations. Seeks advice on a future paper and details of a adze.

Letter, 28/11/1938, H D Skinner to Roger Duff, Further discussion on Beaglehole's desire to develop the social anthropology course. Advising adze has been sold and acquired by either Dominion Museum or Cawthron Institution. Pottery has arrived in good order.

The collection is very good and has been acquired from many sources. Should you every wish to sell your collection hope you will give the Museum and opportunity to make a bid. " ..where quality is high we give higher prices than any other museum".

Letter, 02/03/1938, H D Skinner to J D Campbell, Would like place names. Work on adze has since been updated but yet to be published. Most types in NZ are represented in the Cook Islands. The cook island collection in the museum is very good, lacking some items that the British museum has.
