letter, 28/09/1935, Professor R. Speight to H.D. Skinner, Advises he will send the greywacke adzes early in the week when he selects them. Apologies for not hearing from the Native Land Court or from Mr. Waghern concerning a casket, and does not understand the delay in reply. Expects no objections for the Canterbury Museum to obtain the casket. Speight also photographed pendants that were found in a hole in some rocks at 'Chorlton'.

letter, 26/09/1935, H.D. Skinner to Professor R. Speight, Since returning from a northern trip, has decided to alter his study of the adzes of Murihiku by including a brief treatment of the greywacke adzes of Otago and Canterbury. Would like Speight to select six of the best adze's in collection to send to Skinner where Miss Daff will draw them. Skinner also mentions the museum received, with the John White Collection, one side of a carved box that is almost a replica of Speight's skull-box. Will publish his piece on it at the same time as Speight's box.

letter, 08/11/1935, H.D. Skinner to Dr. Leslie Spier, Thanks for No. 1 of Spier's General Series in Anthropology. Says that during his time in America he has been doing some teaching, but mainly museum work. Advises that his typological studies will not be of interest beyond the Pacific area, so refrains from sending.

Matheson, Letter advising the Museum Management Committee for being insured/covered an amount not exceeding 1000 pounds on European China and/or other China whilst on exhibition for one month in the New Museum Building and in transit. All items to be examined and valued on arrival for insurance purposes.

letter, 12/12/1935, H.D. Skinner to Mrs. H.T. Stearns, Advises Mrs. Stearns that he would like a reply to confirm she has received Maori stone implements on a basis of exchange. Would also appreciate if Dr Stearn's Hawaiian material could be sent as promised.
