Taoka whakarākei

Complete pounamu pendant. Mid-green. Surface is ground smooth except for a reduction at the centre. Rectangular cross section, with a unique, curved "twist" shape. Suspension hole drilled from both sides at the proximal end. Both ends are squared off.

Dentalium shell necklace bead. Broken at both ends and hollow in the centre. Grooves running the length of the shell.

Broken bone pendant, part of upper portion remaining. Burnt and straight with drilled suspension hole.

Broken bone pendant, broken at the proximal end on one side. Broken suspension hole. Slightly curved and tapered toward a point at the distal end.

Complete pounamu pendant. Mid-green and dark brown takiwai variety with high translucency. Surface is polished. Ends are tapered and pointed. Suspension hole at the proximal end drilled from both sides.

Complete pounamu pendant. Mid-green kahurangi variety with high translucency and chatoyant band running diagonally across the centre. Cross section is lenticular. Wide, rounded distal edge. Proximal end has been broken and reworked, with a suspension hole drilled from both sides.

Complete pounamu pendant. Dark green kawakawa variety. Surface is polished. Oval cross section. Slightly tapered at the proximal end, with a straight suspension hole drilled using metal tools. Rounded at both ends.

Complete koropepe pendant. Mid-green takiwai pounamu with high translucency. Surface is polished. Carved on both sides. Body is indicated by a spiral with a perforation at the centre. Face at the proximal end, with an incised eye and mouth indicated by a sawing mark and perforation. Suspension hole drilled from both sides at the proximal end.

Complete bone pendant. Triangular shape with suspension hole at one rounded point.

Bone pendant, broken at the distal end. Slightly curved with suspension hole.

Complete pendant. Long, straight piece of bone that is perforated at the proximal end. The distal end is ground on a angle.

Unfinished tattoo chisel. Notches on either side of the proximal end, long and unfinished distal portion.
