Complete kawakawa pounamu hei tiki. Cream inclusion are evident on the back. Head turned to the proper left. Proper right eye has a flake missing. Suspension hole protrudes from top of head. Arms bent, three fingered hands resting on thighs. Feet have three toes. Perforations between toes and between arms and torso. Back flattened.
Complete one-piece fishhook pendant with incurved tip. External edge from tip of point to 1cm below head serrated. Head has a diagonal groove across shank with v projection and external platform like projection with groove around base. Lower rim platform serrated. Suspension hole at head, drilled from both sides.
Mostly complete pounamu pendant, broken at the suspension hole at the proximal end. Black and dark green kawakawa variety, burnt, medium transparency. Surface is polished. Sawing mark on one side edge. Distal end is pointed.
Complete pounamu pendant. Mid-green in colour with black inclusions. Medium transparency. Surface is highly polished. Proximal end is comes to a dull point with a suspension hole. Distal end is rounded.
Complete pounamu pendant. Mid-green in colour with black inclusions. Low transparency. Surface is highly polished. Proximal end is rounded and slightly tapered, with a straight suspension hole. Distal end is rounded.
Broken pounamu pendant, part of proximal portion remaining. Light green tangiwai variety with high translucency. One side edge has been split longitudinally, breaking the suspension hole. Rounded proximal edge, slightly tapered toward the broken edge.
Complete pounamu pendant. Attached to pounamu toggle D40.539 by a brown three-play rope. Dark green bowenite/tangiwai variety, chatoyant and translucent. Surface is ground. Cross section is lenticular. Seven notches on the proximal edge and a suspension hole drilled from both sides. One side edge is straight, and the other is curved; somewhat squared off at the distal end. Pendant is bevelled on both sides.
Pounamu toggle. Attached to D40.538 by a brown three-ply rope. Light green tahutahi variety; source believed to be Cascade Plateau area. Surface is ground. Triangular shape. Perforation through the centre of the toggle, drilled from both sides. One side has two bevels running lengthwise, demarcated by lines.
Complete bone pendant. Kinked twice along shaft with a suspension hole at the proximal end.
Complete whalebone comb with eight thick teeth. The comb has a rounded top, with a carved perforated design appearing on one edge of the frame.
Fragment of a hei tiki, side leg and arm portion remaining. Pounamu/nephrite, mid-green kawakawa variety. Some cloudy patches as well as dark specks are evident in this pounamu indicative of a South Westland source. Fragment consists of one curved arm (from shoulder down) resting on thigh of curved leg. Foot of leg is not in evidence. This piece is smoothly shaped on both sides.
Complete pounamu pendant. Light green inanga variety. Surface is ground. Oval cross section. Suspension hole drilled from both sides and a notch at proximal end. Pendant tapers and curves slightly to one side at the distal end.
