He kura

Pounamu/nephrite pendant. Dark green with lighter green inclusions, kawakawa variety, low translucency. Surface is ground with some bruising. Square-shaped with rounded corners, slightly tapered on one side. Rectangular cross section. Large suspension hole just off-centre of the pendant and drilled from both sides.

Piece of worked pounamu/nephrite. Dark green kawakawa variety with low translucency. Groove running lengthwise on both sides with objective to break into two. One edge has been squared off, and the other is oblique, coming to a point on one side.

Broken piece of pounamu/nephrite, possibly a pendant. Dark green and brown. Surface is ground smooth with rounded edges. Teardrop shape, piece broken off at end which is slightly tapered.

Complete light green pounamu pendant. Curved to one side at the distal end. Tapering to a suspension knob at the proximal end. Notches along all edges except for internal edge of the curve at the distal end.

Complete ivory pendant. Curved with two suspension holes at proximal end.

Complete straight pounamu pendant. Light green with surface ground smooth. Large suspension hole at the proximal end. Distal end tapers to a dull point. Both ends have a bevel continuous with the shaft.

Complete pounamu/nephrite pendant. Mid-green with light green inclusions; black at the proximal edge. Surface has been ground. One side edge is reduced and flaked along the entire pendant. Suspension hole at the proximal end, slightly off-centre and drilled from both sides. Tapers slightly toward the proximal edge, which is oblique. Distal edge is sharp and straight, similar to the cutting edge of an adze. Bevel is continuous with the blade.

Straight piece of worked bone, tapering to a point at one end and broken at the other end. Possibly a pendant, broken just below the suspension hole. Cross-section is slightly rectangular/lenticular at the broken end.

Broken tattoo chisel. Upper portion remaining. Hafting end is reduced on all sides. There are visible repairs where previously broken. Bone is burnt.

Complete tattoo chisel. Small, not very much length on hafting end. There are four sharp teeth that are quite long.

Large pounamu pendant in bird form. Light green and light blue-grey. Surface is ground with some flaking near the distal end. Small suspension hole at the proximal end, drilled from both sides. Proximal edge is chipped and oblique, representing the head and beak. Elongated neck with straight sides. Curved stomach protrudes on one side edge at a notch below the neck and back is straight and in line with the neck on the other side edge. Projection at the distal end representing tail feathers, notched below the back.

Complete pounamu/nephrite pendant. Mid-green kahurangi/inanga variety. Surface is ground. Tapers toward the proximal end, which has one complete suspension hole, drilled from one side and off-centre. Proximal end has two drill marks, one on each side, indicating incomplete attempts at a suspension hole. Irregular notches/indentations around all edges. Distal end has a bevel on one side, demarcated by curved line, which indicates that the pendant may have been reworked from an adze. Distal end has been reduced and ground near the centre, creating a slight indentation.
