Complete adze Blade is trapezoidal or quadrangular with back narrower than front. Butt is oval. The surface of the front is ground, with bruising at the poll end. The surface of the back is bruised down to the chin, and the bevel is ground. The butt has major differentiation, demarcated by two ridges at shoulder. The bevel is demarcated by a prominent chin, and is curved at the cutting edge. The cutting edge is round, smooth and sharp. There are 3 joints on the blade and shoulder where the adze has been glued.
